History
Transsion Holdings is a conglomerate specialising in mobile communication products and services. It launched Infinix in the year 2013 as one of its subsidiary brands along with two other smartphone subsidiaries named Itel and Techno.
Infinix initially targeted the customers in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa since the demand for feature-rich smartphones at affordable rates is high in these regions. In 2017, Infinix became the third largest brand in Egypt in terms of market share, just behind Samsung and Huawei. This brand has gained popularity in other countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria and Kenya as well.
Infinix introduced its first range of smart televisions in the Nigerian market in the year 2020. This brand was the sponsor of the Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League in the year 2017-18.
Manufacturing facilities
Infinix has multiple manufacturing facilities located across China. However, this brand also manufactures its smartphones and other products at manufacturing facilities located in many other countries such as India, South Korea, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Russia and more. In fact, Infinix is the first smartphone company to manufacture in Pakistan.
Infinix has research and development centres in France and Korea. The brand has an extensive distribution network to reach the customers in its target regions.
