Adani’s Initiatives

The largest private producer of thermal electricity in India is Adani Electricity Limited (APL), a division of the diversified Adani Group. With thermal power plants across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, as well as a 40 MW solar power project in Gujarat, they have a combined power output capacity of 15,250 MW.

They established the initial supercritical thermal power facility in history using coal and registered it as part of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Even though they only started producing electricity in 2006, they established their first power plant effectively and efficiently in Mundra by leveraging the Adani Group’s project management expertise.

The last four years have been difficult for the Indian power industry, putting the tenacity of their business plan to the test. They have come out stronger by overcoming the obstacles with caution, tenacity, and discipline.
