History
Dr. S. K. Burman created Dabur in Kolkata in 1884. He created Ayurvedic remedies for ailments like malaria, constipation, and cholera while working as an Ayurvedic physician in Kolkata in the middle of the 1880s. After becoming a licensed doctor, he continued distributing his medications in Bengal on a bicycle. A combination of the words daktar (doctor) and Burman, “Dabur” became the term his patients used to refer to him and his medications. Later, he started producing his Ayurvedic formulas in large quantities. C.L. Burman established the first R&D unit at Dabur.
