The Bisleri Story

Did you know that before Bisleri became the go-to bottled water in India, it actually started off in Italy? Well, as an Indian customer who has always known Bisleri company, it might be a little surprising for you, right? See, back in 1851, a man named Felice Bisleri came up with a brand. But here’s the thing: it wasn’t for water! Mr. Bisleri was mixing things like cinchona, herbs, and iron salts to create a remedy for alcohol-related issues. Crazy, right? So, every time you have a sip of Bisleri, think about its cool Italian backstory. Fast forward to the 1960s, and Bisleri pops up in India. A guy named Dr. Cesari Rossi teamed up with an Indian businessman, Khushroo Suntook. Together, they brought Bisleri water bottles to India. At first, it was kinda fancy, something you’d only find in the top hotels and eateries of Mumbai. But the Parle Group, led by the Jayantilal Chauhan family, saw its potential. They bought Bisleri in 1969, making it a household name in India. And that is precisely how Bisleri became an Indian favorite!

Current Status Of Bisleri In India

See, Bisleri isn’t just about bottled water anymore. They’ve added some cool stuff over the years! In 2010, they introduced Vedica, a special kind of premium water. And yeah, if you missed those bubbly drinks, cheer up because Bisleri brought back the fizz with Bisleri Pop in 2016.
