History

Eid Parry was founded in 1788 by a British trader, Thomas Parry. In 1834, the company purchased coffee plantations in Wayanad. Parry and Company, as Eid Parry was known then, started a sugar manufacturing factory at Vandipalayam in the year 1842. It got a distillery license in 1845 and established another sugar factory at Nellikuppam in the same year.

Eid Parry ventured into the fertilizer and chemical business in 1906 and the ceramics business in 1907. The company’s engineering division was established in Kolkata in 1918. Eid Parry became a part of the Murugappa Group in 1981.

Operations

Eid Parry operates 6 sugar plants and 1 distillery plant. The sugar plants have a combined crushing capacity of 40,300 TCD and a co-generation capacity of 140 MW. The distillery capacity is 417 KLPD. The company operates high-tech micro-algal plants in Saveripuram and Oonaiyur in Tamil Nadu for its nutraceuticals business.

Products

Eid Parry manufactures and sells multiple sugar brands, such as Parry’s Pure Refined Sugar, Parry’s Amrit Brown Sugar, Parry’s Superfine Sugar, and more. Nutraceutical products by the company include organic spirulina and organic chlorella. Other products include food grains and hand sanitizers.
