Havells India Limited is a prominent global power distribution equipment manufacturer and a leading fast-moving electrical goods (FMEG) company. With its headquarters in Noida, Havells India Limited is a multinational Indian electrical equipment manufacturer. Haveli Ram Gandhi founded it and sold it to his distributor, Qimat Rai Gupta. Havells owns several brands, including Promptec, Lloyd, Havells, Crabtree, and Standard Electric. Havells has a commanding market presence in a variety of product categories.

It acquired the failing Towers and Transformers Ltd. in Delhi in 1983 and successfully brought it around within a year. Havells also acquired ECS, Standard Electricals, Duke Arnics Electronics, and Crabtree India between 1997 and 2001. Havells and the UK-based company Crabtree had a 50:50 joint venture, in which Havells eventually bought out Crabtree’s share. For roughly €200 million, Havells purchased the European lighting manufacturer Sylvania in 2007. Havells debuted the ceramic metal-halide lamp in 2010.


The company produces home appliances, fans, LED lighting, water heaters, modular switches, wiring accessories, industrial and domestic circuit protection switchgear, industrial and domestic cables and wires, capacitors, induction motors, and other items.


The company employs over 6,000 people in over 50 countries through its 23 divisions or representative offices. Rajan Bansal, a businessman, purchases India’s first Lloyd’s exclusive store. The store is in Paschim Vihar, in the western region of New Delhi. Its eleven manufacturing facilities in India are spread across Haridwar, Noida, Baddi, Faridabad, Neemrana, Alwar, and Bengaluru as of 2016.

These days, there are more than 700 Havells Exclusive Brand Stores around the nation that assist both residential and business clients in selecting from a large selection of products for various uses. Havells launched its “Havells Connect” project, making it the first FMEG company to provide door step service.
