History
In Pune, Maharashtra, India, seven engineers created Infosys. The original investment was $250. On July 2, 1981, it was registered under Infosys Consultants Private Limited. It moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, in 1983.
When the business became a public limited company in June 1992, it switched its name to Infosys Technologies Limited from Infosys Technologies Private Limited in April of that same year. In June 2011, it was rebranded as Infosys Limited.
